Thankyou for your interest in Aura Home and also your interest in our sustainable practices.

At Aura we have always been focused on producing the highest quailty textiles, which are designed to last, in the most effective way possible since 2000.

We are working hard to make a difference and we are very passionate about embracing change for our world, we hope the below helps you understand our journey.

Aura Home is manufactured by a limited amount of partners globally. We have been working with the same factories for many years, one of which Tracie has been working with for over 20 years. While we have always been working with suppliers to decrease our environmental impact, we are now endeavouring to have a minimal long term effect. We are working to reduce the environmental impact in our products, including the manufacturing and packaging of our products.

Over the past 2 years we have been working with our factories to enable us to be OEKO-TEX certified and more recently Made in Green by OEKO-TEX certified, which is a traceable product label for textiles manufactured in environmentally friendly facilities and under socially responsible working conditions, with the added assurance of no harmful chemicals. We are proud to now say that a large percentage of our bedlinen, and 100% of our bath towels, are certified. See below link for more detailed information on Made in Green by OEKO-TEX.

As well as our efforts towards Made in Green, we have proudly just released our new Halo 100% organic cotton percale bedlinen which is both GOTS* certified organic cotton and Made In Green certified. Our organic cotton is a specifically selected variety that is adapted to local conditions, making it naturally robust without the need for harmful fertilizers and chemicals, and also requires less water to grow.

Global Organic Textile Standard Certified (GOTS) - GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including environmental and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.

We have proudly moved all of our bedlinen away from using PVC bags and plastic and all is now packed in a reusable fabric bags. We are also working to use the waste from our bedlinen to produce reusable cotton bags for shoppers in our stores to move away from shopping bags. We are challenging ourselves to find more sustainable ways of packaging our products with no plastic.

In India, we have been working with and visiting the same Indian factories for over 20 years. The Artisans we work with are the foundation of our business and where it all started. We have developed a working and friendship relationship and have total respect for each other. Our accessories are all hand dyed, hand woven and hand dried in the sun, an absolute pleasure to experience and be a part of. They reuse all yarn and fabric waste for local products and all dyestuffs are filtered and cleaned through water processing and then recycled and reused.

We recognise we have a long journey ahead of us but we are proud of the direction we are heading for a better future.
