Caring for your linen
All AURA bedlinen can be machine washed, the primary rule is to always pay close attention to the washing instructions. In addition, these hints may help:
- Washing bedlinen inside out will help protect the fabric’s colours and, if your bedlinen features any decorative embroidery or embellishments, this will stop these catching on other items in the wash.
- When buying pure cotton quilt covers and sheets you should always be aware that cotton, unlike man-made fabrics, will crease.
I personally don’t iron my cotton bedlinen as I like a relaxed look, but if you prefer crisply ironed sheets you should always try to do the following:
- Take the bedlinen out of the washing machine immediately the cycle has finished, do not leave it to begin to dry in the machine.
- Dry flat or line dry to discourage creasing.
- Iron when slightly damp - ironing is always more effective if the fabric is not completely dry.
- Take care not to iron to hot as you can scorch whites!
Finally, if you like the look of ironed sheets but simply don’t have the time, try ironing only your pillowcases and the top cuff of your flat sheet. This works for me - especially for when Mum visits!
But, above all, please simply enjoy your new AURA bedlinen...
